Too many of us stay in jobs
we don’t like simply because we need the money.
Now, the need for the income a job provides
might be a valid reason to stay in a job you don’t like but it’s not a good reason. This situation
is much too common and, in effect, money keeps many of us handcuffed to jobs that we would rather be free of.
The job you are handcuffed to in this manner
might pay really well and your particular handcuffs might be golden, but handcuffs are handcuffs.
More often, we find ourselves handcuffed
to jobs that don’t pay so well and our handcuffs are not so golden.
Still, whatever the situation, we are prisoners
in a very real sense in that we are not free to leave and not really free in staying; slaves to our wages even if we earn
only a slave’s wages.
So, the question is this:
What color are
your handcuffs?
